Hi, my name is Néstor!
I'm a software engineer, game developer and UX designer based in Spain.
Ever since I was little I've always had a passion for building and creating things. I began tinkering with computers and electronics when I was 5 and I've been programming since I was 7. I've always wanted to do something that allowed me to mix both my technical and creative sides, which is why I've always been drawn to videogames.
Over the past 12 years I've dedicated a lot of my free time to creating mods for Minecraft, amassing over 70 million downloads, and have managed and contributed to open source projects used by thousands of developers in the modding community. Throughout this time I've had the chance of meeting and working with many really talented individuals, and I'm proud to say that I've forged some of my best friendships through working on these projects.
When I'm not modding, I enjoy doing a bit of everything — from electronics design to writing music, to building hyper-scalable cloud-native platforms. I'm also a partnered Twitch streamer creating educational content around Minecraft modding and general software development, though I don't have a chance to stream as often as I would like to.
In 2021 I graduated from the University of Salamanca with a bachelor's in Computer Engineering, with my thesis project consisting of the creation of a Minecraft-style game with modding at its core while learning two new programming languages (C# and C++) and a modern graphics API (Vulkan). It was a really enjoyable and refreshing challenge and I'm really pleased with the result.
Despite being a native Spanish speaker, I mainly use English in my day-to-day life and have a Cambridge C2 certification. I'm currently also learning Japanese, with a focus on speaking and comprehension over reading and writing with the goal of being able to communicate with the locals when I eventually get to visit Japan. And understanding anime without subtitles, of course.
